I am co‑founder and Managing Partner at Outrun Ventures, my family office, and a Venture Partner at Techstars. I co‑founded Marlin Financial Group and exited to a NASDAQ‑listed company in 2014, then transitioned to venture investing. I built the number one rated accelerator in Europe as Techstars MD and my 50 investments made in that role are worth more than 8x to date. My private portfolio spans around 250 companies, mainly fintech, with 200 companies in that portfolio having attracted more than £1.75 billion of follow‑on investment; I was an early or first investor into three unicorns.
I invest primarily in fintech and seed/early opportunities and enjoy mentoring mission‑driven founders who want to create businesses that do well and do good. Recognitions include GBEA Investor of the Year 2023, Business Insider’s number one Seed investor in Europe in 2022, Sifted’s most active Fintech Angel in Europe 2021–2023 and UKBAA Angel Investor of the Year 2018/19. Notable portfolio companies include Marshmallow, Quant Network, Atom Bank, Smart Pension, Kompany, Cuvva, Kuda Bank and others. I am based in the UK and remain active as a business partner and mentor to founders.
